Fujitsu Software released the next generation of its Interstage Suite, which it dubs “one of the world's broadest families of application infrastructure software products for designing, developing, and managing scalable, customized mission-critical applications.” The Interstage Suite is designed to facilitate the management of processes and content, and support Web services.

Fujitsu states: “The modular Interstage Suite allows enterprises to choose the products that can have the most immediate impact on their business, often enabling businesses to achieve a measurable return on investment within weeks. The Interstage Suite is also flexible, leveraging Fujitsu's contribution to all major standards bodies, such as those for Web-based standards SOAP, UDDI, ebXML, Java, XML, and XBRL, which are enabling Web services.”

Core products of the Interstage Suite include the Interstage Application Server, Interstage Business Process Manager and Interstage Portal.

The new Interstage XBRL Processor is the first full-featured industrial-strength toolkit for building and deploying applications based on the eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL). It enables the automatic exchange and reliable extraction of financial information across multiple software formats and technologies, including the Internet. A resource for today's compliance-driven financial reporting demands and risk management, the Interstage XBRL Processor allows enterprises to address both the Sarbanes-Oxley Act in the US and Basel-II worldwide.

Interstage Business Process Manager is Fujitsu's business process management software. It features a powerful and highly adaptable engine to help organizations deploy complete process life cycle solutions. The new release extends process management by effectively linking human-centric business processes with systems-centric processes for an end-to-end solution.

Interstage XML Search (Shunsaku Data Manager), a high-speed search vehicle for XML data, allows queries to XML data, reports and documents, unlimited by size or location. Results for 100 or 1000 simultaneous searches are completed in virtually the same time, enabled by Fujitsu's patented search algorithm.

Fujitsu Interstage Suite products are now available worldwide. Pricing starts at $2,000 per primary CPU.

More than 8,000 enterprises, representing over 83,000 installations worldwide, have adopted the Interstage Suite of modular products, including customers such as Nippon Oil, the Medical Benefits Fund of Australia, and Zenith Insurance Company.
