Difference between Case Study and White Papers


Can tell me the difference between a case study and a white paper. I read your case study overview and am having a hard time differentiating between them. If you have a minute, can you clarify?

As regards the case study: this usually demonstrates how a product or service improved a business situation, for example, how MS Exchange improved the performance of a company’s email systems. Accenture have some very good examples on their site.

By contrast, the white paper can be more abstract: it proposes what may happen if you implemented a solution based on research, interviews, track records, and other collateral.

Sales and Marketing types often bundle them both into their sales kit as they both compliment each other by highlighting (directly with the case study and indirectly with the white paper) your expertise in a particular field.
